[cze][eng] Práce si klade za cíl analyzovat Augustinův spis De bono coniugali a zhodnotit jeho význam pro teologii manželství. Po představení pojetí instituce manželství v římské říši a ve spisech vybraných křesťanských autorů Východu i Západu v prvních čtyřech staletích a s přihlédnutím k rozvíjející se mnišské tradici se dále zabývá osobností a dílem Augustina z Hippo, zejména spisem De bono coniugali, a to nejen v kontextu reakce na dobové polemiky, ale především jako první formalizovanou a strukturovanou naukou církevního autora o manželství. After presenting the concept of marriage as an institution in the Roman empire and in writings of selected authors of Christian East and West in the first four centuries and also considering the developing monastic tradition, it is further dealing with the personality and works of Augustine of Hippo, especially with his treatise De bono coniugali; not only in the context of a response to then controversies, but especially as a first formalized and structured science of a church father on marriage.
