Cílem této Bakalářské práce je přiblížit různé významy modálního slovesa would a určit, které významy jsou nejvíce užívané v anglickém jazyce. V teoretické části se práce zaměřuje na popis jednotlivých významů slovesa would a zároveň obsahuje příklady užití jednotlivých významů ve větách. V praktické části bylo zjišťováno, které významy jsou nejčastěji užívané jak v mluveném, tak v psaném jazyce. The aim of this B.A. thesis is to describe and specifie the various meanings of modal auxiliary verb would and determine which of the meanings are most frequently used in English. In the theoretical part is a detailed description of each meaning of would together with some example phrases. In the practical part, a study of the relative frequency of the various meanings in spoken and written language took place.
