Práce ukázala, že Církve československá (husitská) se od okamžiku svého vzniku jasně přiklonila k pohřbu žehem. Stala se průkopnicí a nejvýznamnějším propagátorem pohřbu žehem. CČS byla investorem a provozovatelem nejrozsáhlejší sítě kolumbárií v Československu. Dále bylo prokázáno, že postoj CČS(H) ke konkrétní podobě pohřebních obřadů nebyl statický, ale dynamický a zrcadlil její vývoj a posun v teologických důrazech u jednotlivých teologů CČS(H). Přes počáteční období silně ovlivněné liberalismem a balancováním na hraně unitářství a svobodných církví, se díky obratu v teologii CČS v druhé polovině čtyřicátých let 20. století upevnil biblicismus a CČS revidovala i svůj odmítavý postoj k starocírkevním dogmatům a navrátila se k tradičnější teologii. To ochránilo teologii CČS(H) před nástrahami přehnaného, vyprázdněného liberalismu a vlivu myšlení "svobodných" církví a umožnilo CČSH zůstat v logických hranicích pohřebního obřadu s tradičním členěním, jak tomu bylo od počátku a nevydat se cestou svévolného experimentování s podobou pohřebních obřadů. Celkově lze říct, že současná CČSH si pod vlivem teologie Zdeňka Trtíka a Zdeňka Kučery začíná uvědomovat význam a nadčasovost křesťanské tradice a chápe svůj historický úkol, ne ve vytvoření nové věrouky, ale ve schopnosti přetlumočit evangelium pro... 10 Abstract The Development of Funeral Practices in the Context of the Evolution of Ideological framework of the Czechoslovak (Hussite) Church. Richard Ferčík Our work resulted in finding that since the very beginning of its existence, the Czechoslovak (Hussite) Church approached the question of funeral rituals as a practical, pastoral question, not academic and theoretical. The Czechoslovak Church became a pioneer and promoter of cremation and operator of the most extensive network of columbaries in Czechoslovakia. The major moment of Czechoslovak (Hussite) Church particulars was the shift from the mechanical-magical concept of funeral in popular Catholicism, by which it tried to confront with a purified and understandable ritual based on the gospel and the desire to enculturate the gospel and translate it into a "live" language. Judging by the theological view of death and funeral, the basis from which it stemmed is quite clear - catholic modernism and liberal democratic thinking. In the first generation of Czechoslovak (Hussite) Church theologians we could observe significant "scholastic" fundament.
