Michal Žák, Ph.D., Katedra fyziky atmosféry Abstrakt: Vývoj 60 izolovaných konvektivních bouří ve střední Evropě z let 2016 a 2017 je pozorován různými senzory dálkové detekce. Na základě hlášení z Evropské databáze nebezpečných jevů jsou bouře rozděleny do dvou katego- rií: nebezpečné bouře a bouře bez zaznamenaného nebezpečného jevu. Pomocí radarů, družicových přístrojů a sítě detektorů blesků jsou analyzovány průběhy různých charakteristik bouří, abychom zjistili jejich typické chování. Počet bles- kových výbojů v 5minutových intervalech a jeho změna upozorňuje na potenciální nebezpečnost bouře, proto byl v této práci navržen algoritmus pro detekci jeho náhlého nárůstu. Z jednotlivých případových studií vyplývá, že metody distanč- ních měření podávají komplexní informace o životních cyklech bouří. Klíčové proměnné pro odhad budoucí intenzity bouře jsou objektivně určeny mo- dely logistické regrese a regularizovanou regresí (elastická síť). Jejich schopnost predikce byla prokázána využitím celkem 53 proměnných z prvních 30, 60 a 90 minut sledovaného života bouře. Výsledky modelů naznačují, že nejdůležitějšími prediktory... Michal Žák, Ph.D., Department of Atmospheric Physics Abstract: Evolution of 60 isolated convective storms from 2016 and 2017, which formed in the region of Central Europe, is studied by means of multi-sensor observations. According to the reports from the European Severe Weather Da- tabase, two categories of storms are classified: severe and non-severe. Based on radar, lightning and satellite measurements, trends of storm characteristics are analyzed to ascertain their typical behavior. Lightning stroke rates and their change could well warn about the ability of the storm to become severe, therefore a Lightning jump algorithm was proposed within this work. From individual case studies follows that methods of remote sensing offer comprehensive information about convective storm life-cycles. In order to objectively determine crucial variables for estimating the storm se- verity, logistic regression models and regularized regressions (elastic net) are employed.
