Diplomová práce Mediální konstrukce kurdských ženských milic v ČT, CNN, AJE a RT se zabývá mediálním pokrytím kurdských ženských milic na území ve třech světových a v jednom tuzemském médiu. Cílem práce je za použití kvalitativní metody interpretativního čtení přinést čtenářům ucelený přístup zkoumaných médií v pokrývání témat spojených s kurdskými bojovnicemi. Autor do analýzy zařadil televizní stanice, z nichž každá reprezentuje jeden dominantní region - CNN americký, AJE blízkovýchodní, RT ruský a ČT tuzemský. Již existující akademické práce často zmiňují mediální fascinaci kurdskými bojovnicemi, jakožto "drsnými válečnicemi", které jsou netypickým jevem na území patriarchálního Blízkého východu. Tato práce se tak zaměřuje především na porovnání míry fascinace a genderovou stereotypizaci mediálního pokrytí jednotlivých médií. Kurdské ženské milice se dostaly do centra mediální pozornosti v souvislosti s válkou s takzvaným Islámským státem, který od roku 2014 dobyl rozsáhlé oblasti na území Sýrie a Iráku. Zásadními událostmi, jež vzbudily mediální pozornost kolem kurdských bojovnic, byly bitva o severosyrské město Kobani a útok na jezídskou komunitu na severozápadě Iráku u hory Sindžár. V obou případech se kurdské ženy staly nedílnou součástí úspěšných vojenských operací, jež stály za potlačením ofenzivy... The diploma thesis The media construction of the Kurdish women's militia in CT, CNN, AJE and RT deals with the media coverage of all female Kurdish militias in three world media and one domestic. The aim of the thesis is to allow readers a comprehensive approach to the studied media in covering topics related to Kurdish fighters with the use of a qualitative method known as interpretive reading. The author has included TV stations, each of which represents one dominant region - CNN American, AJE Middle Eastern, RT Russian and Czech TV domestic. Existing academic papers often focus on media fascination with Kurdish fighters, labeling them as "tough warriors", describing them as an unusual phenomenon in the territory of the patriarchal Middle East. This work focuses mainly on comparing the degree of fascination and gender stereotyping in media coverage of each media house. Kurdish women's militias have been the center of media attention in connection with the war with the so-called Islamic State, which has captured large areas in Syria and Iraq since 2014. The main events that raised media attention around the Kurdish women fighters were the battle of the city of Kobani in northern Syria and the assault on the Yazidi community in the northwest of Iraq at Mount Sindjar.
