Cílem bakalářské práce je popsat užití kaligrafického písma při tvorbě knižní obálky ve 20. století. První část práce se věnuje představení umění kaligrafie a jejímu vývoji. Stručně rozvádí vztah mezi textem a obrazem a zabývá se významem rukopisu v dnešní době. V druhé části práce jsou představeni významní čeští výtvarníci a knižní grafici. V závěrečné kapitole jsou zhodnoceny a porovnány kaligrafické obálky v rámci knižní produkce 20. století. The purpose of the bachelor thesis is to describe the use of calligraphy in the creation of the book cover in the 20th century. The first part is devoted to the introduction of the art of calligraphy and its development. It briefly explains the relationship between text and picture and deals with the meaning of the handwriting today. The second part of the work introduces significant Czech artists and book graphics. In the final chapter, calligraphic book covers are evaluated and compared in book production of the 20th century.
