V květnu 2017 byl ve výzkumu Naše společnost každoroční blok otázek na téma energetiky mimořádně rozšířen o některé speciální otázky. Výzkum zaprvé zjišťoval zájem o energetickou politiku České republiky a její hodnocení. Dále se výzkum věnoval postojům k záležitostem, jako jsou prolomení limitů těžby hnědého uhlí, finanční zvýhodnění využívání obnovitelných zdrojů energie, možnost výroby elektřiny a tepla v menších lokálních zařízeních, ekologická šetrnost elektřiny z jádra nebo potřeba modernizace českých uhelných elektráren s cílem maximálního prodloužení jejich provozu. In May 2017 the survey of the Public Opinion Research Centre incorporated a regular set of questions focused on the theme of energy that was expanded by some special questions. The survey investigated interest in energy policy of the Czech Republic and its evaluation by citizens. It also focused on attitudes to matters like breaking of limitation on surface mining of lignite in Nothern Bohemia, financial favouring of exploitation of renewable resources of energy, possibility of production of electricity and heat in smaller local plants, environmental friendliness of atomic energy, or necessity of modernisation of Czech coal power plants with intention to prolong their lifespan.
