Tato bakalářská práce sleduje vývoj postavení pásma Gaza v průběhu trvání izraelsko-palestinského konfliktu. První část je zaměřena na historii konfliktu s důrazem na dění, které ovlivnilo sledovanou oblast. Dále jsou v práci rozebírány události 21. století, které měly dopad na současnou situaci a životní podmínky v tomto prostoru, konkrétně se jedná o jednostranné stažení Izraele z pásma Gazy, Izraelem uvalenou ekonomickou blokádu pásma Gazy a tři vojenské operace, které Izrael na tomto území během probíhající blokády vedl. Následky blokády a vojenských akcí uvrhly sledovanou oblast do stavu, který je na hranici obyvatelnosti. Pozornost je v této práci věnována také palestinské politické scéně, a to vzestupu islamistického hnutí Hamás a rostoucí rivalitě mezi frakcemi Fatah a Hamás. Právě vnitřní problémy a nestabilita palestinského vedení patří v současné době mezi překážky při hledání mírového řešení celého izraelsko-palestinského sporu. This bachelor thesis follows the development of the Gaza Strip during the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The first part is focused on the history of the conflict with emphasis placed on the events that influenced the analysed area. In the next chapter, events of the 21st century that affected the current situation and living conditions in this area were discussed, namely the Israeli unilateral disengagement from Gaza, economic blockade imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip, and three military operations that Israel executed in this territory during the ongoing blockade. The consequences of the blockade and military actions have thrown the examined area into a state that is on the edge of inhabitability Attention is also paid to the Palestinian political scene, namely to the rise of the Islamist Hamas movement and the increasing rivalry between the Fatah and Hamas factions. It is precisely the internal problems and instability of the Palestinian leadership that are currently among the obstacles to finding a peaceful solution to the whole Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
