The thesis summarizes the theory of mixed Poisson models. Poisson distri- bution is one of the popular distributions in modelling count data, but its use is limited because it requires equidispersion. Because of this we introduce both con- tinuous and finite mixtures. From continuous mixtures the main representative is the negative binomial model, which arises as Poisson Gamma mixture, while from discrete models we deal mainly with zero-inflated models and hurdle models. For these models we use the maximum likelihood estimates of their parameters. In the end we apply these models to fit automobile insurance data from Australia, where we use MLE to fit Poisson regression, negative binomial regression and Poisson hurdle regression. Tato práce shrnuje teorii smíšených poissonovských modelů. Poissonovo roz- dělení je často používané rozdělení pro modelování počtů událostí, ale jeho prak- tické využití je limitováno požadavkem na rovnost střední hodnoty a rozptylu. Proto představujeme spojité a diskrétní smíšené poissonovské modely. Hlav- ním představitelem spojitých rozdělení je negativné binomické, které vzniká spo- jením Poissonova a gamma rozdělení. V případě diskrétních smíšených modelů se zabýváme hlavně modely s nadbytečnými nulami (zero-inflated models) a hrad- bovými modely (hurdle models). Pro všechny zmíněné modely využíváme odhady koeficientů principem maximální věrohodnosti. Na konci této práce aplikujeme představenou teorii na reálná data z automobilového pojištění z Austrálie, přičemž použijeme maximálně věrohodné odhady koeficientů v Poissonově regresním mod- elu, negativně binomickém regresním modelu a Poissonově hradbovém regresním modelu.
