[cze][eng] Situace v Chicagu během let 1920 až 1933, tedy v době, kdy na území Spojených států amerických platil 18. dodatek americké ústavy, zakazující výrobu, přepravu a prodej alkoholických nápojů, se stala jedním ze symbolů pro úspěch organizovaného zločinu. Tato práce má prostřednictvím analýzy historického, geografického, demografického, ekonomického a politického vývoje Chicaga určit, jaké byly podmínky pro tamní organizovaný zločin během prohibice a jaké důvody stály za úspěchem chicagských zločineckých organizací té doby.Situation in Chicago during Prohibition time from 1920 to 1933, when the 18. ammandment was active and forbade production, transport and sale of alcoholic beverages had become a symbol for success of the organized crime. This thesis is up to analyze historical, geographical, demographical, economical and political proggression of Chicago, and determine the preconditions for succes of local organized crime and which reasons stood behind the success of Chicago's crime organizations of that time.
