Flebotomové jsou významní trapiči a přenašeči medicínsky a veterinárně významných virových, bakteriálních a protozoárních onemocnění, kteří se především vyskytují v subtropických a tropických oblastech celého světa. Nejvýznamnějším přenášeným onemocněním je leishmanióza. V současnosti je popsáno více než 900 druhů a poddruhů podčeledi Phlebotominae rozdělených do 32 rodů. Jejich taxonomie není dosud ustálena. Morfologická identifikace jednotlivých druhů je časově náročná, u některých druhů dokonce nemožná. Pro druhovou identifikaci flebotomů jsou proto používány molekulární metody. V této práci jsou popsány metody založené na zkoumání molekulárních struktur, případně etologických projevů flebotomů. Všechny tyto metody byly použity k druhové identifikaci flebotomů, k čemuž jsou v jednotlivých kapitolách uvedeny příklady a výhody a nevýhody jejich použití. Phlebotomine sand flies are vectors of important human and veterinary infectious diseases which are distributed mainly in subtropical and tropical areas around the world. The most important transmited infection is leishmaniosis. Over 900 species and subspecies of Phlebotominae subfamily have been described and classified into 32 genera. Their taxonomy has not been fully resolved yet. Morphological identification of each species is time-consuming, some species are even morphologically undefinable. For these reasons the molecular methods of identification are used. The methods described in this bachelor thesis study molecular structures and etologic displays. All these methods had been used for species identification of sand flies and are followed by examples of usage, adventages and disadvantages.
