MUDr. Sylva Skálová, Ph.D. Název disertační práce: Biomechanické vlastnosti kostí v experimentu a vliv homocysteinu na kostní zdraví Tato disertační práce sestává z části experimentální a klinické. Experimentální část se zabývá viskoelastickými vlastnostmi biologických materiálů, v tomto případě kostí při dynamickém namáhání. Klinická část se zabývá vlivem vyšších hladin homocysteinu na kostní zdraví. V teoretickém úvodu je podrobně uveden popis anatomie a fyziologie lidských kostí, jejich vývoj, metabolismus, některá metabolická onemocnění kostí, vliv stravy na jejich kvalitu a vliv homocysteinu na kostní zdraví. Dále je uveden popis reologických modelů (složených z Hookeova a Newtonova tělesa). Pro ověření, zkoumání a měření byly v experimentální části této práce vybrány kosti prasete domácího, neboť mají podobnou strukturu a biomechanické vlastnosti jako kosti lidské. V experimentální části byly provedeny dvě série měření s mírně odlišnou konfigurací. Byla zvolena méně obvyklá tzv. rezonanční metoda, využívající přístroje RMA. MUDr. Sylva Skálová, Ph.D. Title of Doctoral Thesis: Biomechanical properties of bones in the experiment and the effect of homocysteine on bone health The Doctoral Thesis comprises two basic parts - the Experimental and Clinical. The former one addresses viscoelastic properties of biological materials, in particular bones under dynamic strain. The latter one focuses on the effect of elevated homocysteine levels on bone health. The Introduction includes detailed anatomical description and physiology of human bone, its development, metabolism, and finally some metabolic disorders, the impact of nourishment on its quality and the impact of homocysteine on bone health. Furthermore, the Introduction contains description of Rheological models (described by Hooke's and Newton's elements).
