Práce se zabývá vzájemným vztahem sociálních struktur a individuálního jednání v procesu migrace. Cílem je kontextuální výklad motivů a strategií přesunu dvou generací Čechů do Berlína. Generace krajanů, která odešla mezi lety 1968-1989 a generace migrujících, která se přestěhovala po vstupu České republiky do Evropské unie. Koncentrace na význam času(ů) a míst(a) v procesu migrace umožňuje srovnání generací a je klíčem k pochopení interakce struktur a jednání. Teoreticko-metodologický rámec tvoří pojetí teorie praktik od Karen O'Reilly (2012), pro interpretaci významu času(ů) byla využita výzkumná perspektiva životních drah, pro význam míst(a) koncept migračních sítí a transnacionalismu. Jádrem empirické části je analýza etnografického materiálu, který zahrnuje poznámky ze zúčastněného pozorování a hloubkové narativní rozhovory s biografickými prvky (mikro-úroveň). Interpretace motivů a strategií přesunu i významu sociálních sítí a praktik aktérů je zasazena do širších struktur a událostí - tj. historicko-geografického vztahu mezi zeměmi a politicko-právních podmínek migrace (makro-úroveň), stejně jako zvažuje načasování migrace jako události v individuálním a institucionálním životě (mezo-úroveň). Zatímco u krajanů širší struktury definovaly migraci z hlediska času a význam míst (skrze sociální... (in English): This paper is concerned with the interrelation among social structures and individual agency in the migration process. Aim of the thesis is to contextually explain motivations and strategies of two Czech generations who migrated to Berlin. It focuses on generation of Czechs who left homeland between 1968-1989 and migration generation who moved after the accession of The Czech Republic to the European Union. The accent put on the time(s) and place(s) in the migration process enables to compare generations, and is the key to understanding interaction of structures and agency. Theoretical and methodological framework is formed by the concept of the theory of practices from Karen O'Reilly (2012), to interpret the meaning of the time(s) the life course perspective was used, the meaning of place(s) was interpreted by the concept of migration networks and transnationalism. The core of the empirical part is analysis of ethnographic material concerning notes from participant observation and narrative in-depth interviews with biographical elements (micro-level).
