Cílem této práce je, po shromáždění a nastudování dostupných materiálů, popsat a analyzovat statistickou činnost Karla Engliše. Vycházím zde z jeho vlastních statistických článků, publikací a skromné literatuty týkající se této tématiky. Tomuto rozboru předchází dvě úvodní kapitoly zabývající se Úřední statistikou v 1. čtvrtině 20. století a životem a dílem Karla Engliše. The aim of this work, after collecting and studying available materials, is to describe, analyze and judge the statistical activity of Karel Engliš. The work is based on an analysis of his statistical articles, publications and a modest literature of this theme. Two opening chapters are dedicated to the official statistic in first quarter of 20th century and the biography of Karel Engliš.
