Abstract: The thesis focuses on research of technical image medium of photography in what might seem as its conflict with subject of the resulting image - paranormal phenomena, maps beginnings of such tendencies and their relations to contemporary situation. By splitting the topic into four parts - radiations, mediumistic phenomena, documentation and psychical phenomena - it creates categorized image of birth and evolution of photographic method of recording paranormal phenomena. The area that might be too vast to cover is then narrowed down to only that phenomena that require human mediums as means of creating technological image.
