Cílem metodiky je inovovat metody odchovu vironosné populace mšice střemchové (Rhopalosiphum padi), jako vektoru viru žluté zakrslosti ječmene (Barley yellow dwarf virus‐BYDV), pro zajištění umělé inokulace obilnin tímto virovým patogenem. Prezentovaná metodika je modifikací pro tento účel doposud používané metodiky. Předností prezentované metody je její nižší časová náročnost, vyšší rychlost dosažení vysoce početné vironosné populace mšic a účinnější možnost ochrany před predátory mšic. The methodology describes innovative procedures of rearing virulent population of Rhopalosiphum padi aphids, as a vector of Barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV), for artificial infections of cereals. The method is a modification of existing procedure used in our laboratory for this purpose. The advantage of present methodology includes more abundance of viruliferous aphids within shorter period and effective control against aphid predators than the earlier used methodology.
